365 Days

Oh, what a difference a year makes.

Last year, I stood outside Brinkley Commons at the Mason School of Business presenting a small poster board to the participants of SEcon2012.

This Friday, on the same stage as the CEOs of Forbes, One.org, BRAC, and other great social impact leaders, I will officially launch the Lunas Project at SEcon2013.

This past year has been one of tremendous opportunity, incredible generosity, and valuable partnerships. There have been difficulties along the way — no doubt — but the support of the College and the others I have had the privilege to meet have supported my passion even beyond my own self-confidence.

I have no words to describe how thankful I am for the support I have gotten. I hope that my experiences will show other students that the possibilities are endless.  The Mason community is like no other — the support and resources available to students far exceeded anything I could ever imagine. It has allowed me to be courageous and creative, to be passionate and idealistic, to do more than just speak theory or provide recommendations — but to actually do.

I came to the Mason school a 19 years old student with an idea in a Word document. This month, I am speaking at SEcon, launching my disaster relief project, and speaking at TEDx.

Thank you Mason for believing in your students, investing in our passions, and supporting our crazy ideas.

See you all at SEcon.
