Have you ever wished for privileged conversations with outstanding business leaders? Apparently you are not the only one! Last week was a first for Mason: three amazing speakers in three days. And the attendance was phenomenal.
On March 3, Distinguished Speakers welcomed Blythe McGarvie, CEO of Leadership for International Finance, an outstanding woman ranked among the most influential people in the boardroom and the author of Shaking the Globe: Courageous Decision-Making in a Changing World.
The following day, the Ethics Speakers Series welcomed Kevin Walsh of Merrill Lynch for a discussion on Ethics in the financial world.
And on March 5, Executive-in-Residence welcomed Bertrand Collomb, former CEO and Chairman of the Lafarge Group, who shared with us his vision of the new global corporation based on the true respect of political, economic and social differences.
Together these three speakers represent a bold new direction the Mason School of Business has taken on. Their teachings and insights add tremendous value to our education and will stay with us, especially as we start our careers in rather difficult times.
I know I am not alone when I say I can’t wait to see who visits next!
