I am currently a second-year student in the Full-Time MBA program. I graduated from William & Mary Undergraduate in May of 2007, at which time I thought, for sure, that I was going on to pursue medicine as my life’s line of work. In July of 2008, however, I won the title of Miss South Carolina, and my whole world changed. The next twelve months were filled with public speeches and special appearances in addition to the intense preparation for competing in Miss America in January 2009. Although I was not able to walk away with the title of Miss America, I did walk away with experiences and memories of a lifetime. My whole perspective on what I want to do in life changed during my reign as Miss South Carolina. I realized that I wanted to be a part of something much bigger than myself. Now, as an MBA Candidate, I have the world at my fingertips.
