Congratulations W&M MBA Class of 2013!

This past weekend was one of proud celebration. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house – from both rain and tears of joy as we celebrated the commencement exercises for our W&M MBA Class of 2013. It was a grand occasion as family, friends, faculty, staff, mentors and colleagues joined together on campus to revel in the successes of their beloved graduates. Once Mother Nature realized that a rain shower wouldn’t douse the enjoyment of this ceremonious event – the sun emerged and shined on the wonderful accomplishments of our students. Congratulations W&M MBA Class of 2013 – you’ve made it!

While I am writing this blog to offer well wishes and congratulations to the Class of 2013, I also want to make sure I offer congratulatory remarks for two other groups of students who are also special to us. For the Class of 2014 who are now 2nd year MBAs, you should feel extremely proud of completing your first year of your graduate studies. You’ve reached the half-way point, so job well done! There’s still a lot more hard-work ahead with summer internships, 2nd year CAMs and Field Consultancy – but we are most pleased with what you have achieved thus far and we are looking forward to the successes to come!

The other group that deserves to be recognized is the newest cohort, W&M MBA Class of 2015. We have worked diligently to craft a class of diverse, accomplished and deserving candidates who will walk the halls of Miller Hall in a few short months as legacies to our most recent grads. You, too, should be proud of your achievements. We know you have also sacrificed and worked to prepare yourself for the next chapter of your academic career and we are also very happy to be welcoming you to the Mason family.

We are strongly attached to all of our students and while we are sad to see the Class of 2013 depart on their next journey; we know they will be great ambassadors for the Mason School of Business and continue to be connected and dedicated members of our family as distinguished alumni. We can also rest knowing that there is a great group who will follow in their footsteps as the student leaders of our MBA program next year and our entering students are ready to work hard in creating their own place at W&M as they begin their graduate education.

So congratulations to the W&M MBA Classes of 2013, 2014 and 2015. We are very proud of all of you!
