MBA Class of 2014, Welcome!

Hola! Saludos de Santiago, Chile!

The time is finally here and I have been waiting weeks to write this much-anticipated blog-post, excitedly welcoming you… our W&M MBA Class of 2014. Although the recruitment season has whisked me away to South America during this special time, my thoughts are very much with you, our newest cohort, as today marks the beginning of your MBA journey and membership in the Mason family!

While it is personally difficult not be front in line at orientation welcoming your class as you enter the doors of Miller Hall for the first time as official MBA candidates – I rest assured knowing that you will be greeted with bounds of enthusiasm from Mason faculty, staff, Executive Partners, 2nd year students – and certainly the MBA Programs, MBA Admissions and CareerPREP teams. The relationships we have already developed through the admissions and pre-MBA processes are strong and steady, hopefully providing an immediate sense of support and comfort.

Your MBA Class of 2014 is passionate, conscientious and dedicated, striving to make an immediate impact in the program, the life of the Mason Community, William & Mary and the world. We welcome 114 MBAs, JD/MBAs, MBA/MPPs, MBA/MACCs and Major General James Wright MBA Fellows. You bring a variety of professional experiences, specialized skills and unique talents to the Mason School creating a learning community rich with diverse perspective and innovative thinking. You represent approximately 18 countries, countless companies, compassionate causes and commitment to social good. You are analysts, AP chemistry teachers, senior auditors, buyers, dentists, deputy directors, engineers, entrepreneurs, exhibition coordinators, founders and CEOs, fund analysts, marketing managers, operations managers, project managers, social media managers, Major Cutter schedulers, strategy consultants, supply officers and Vice-Presidents. Amanda Barth

Amanda is the Director of MBA Admissions for the Mason School of Business. She completed her Master of Education degree in the Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership Program at William & Mary in 2006. After completing her Masters she worked as a development officer at the Arizona State University Foundation in Tempe, Arizona. Amanda returned to William & Mary, joining the Mason School of Business in 2009 and has been an active part of the Mason family ever since.
