This past Friday, the MBA Admissions Team hosted an amazing group of prospective MBA candidates on campus for our Annual Winter Visit Experience. During the day, these potential Masonites were exposed to a variety of activities and events designed to show them what it means to be a part of the Mason MBA experience.
Their day started off with a student panel including three of our seasoned second year-MBA students who shared insights from a student perspective on the ins and outs of Mason. Topics ranged from the transition from work-life back into student-life, first year experience to global business immersions, executive partners and career opportunities for after the MBA.
After an informative presentation from our Director of CareerPREP, Peggy Gesing, featuring the services offered by her team to our MBA students, Assistant Dean, Deborah Hewitt, led the students through a class simulation discussing outsourcing. Based on feedback and conversations throughout the day, this was one of the highlights of their visit day..
After a lunch with a few of our favorite Executive Partners, Amanda and I conducted information sessions or interviews with each candidate while our current MBA’s took the rest of the group on tours of Miller Hall and the W&M campus. The day ended with the All-MBA Networking Event where our prospective students had the opportunity to meet and engage with current students from our Full-Time, Flex, and Executive MBA Programs followed by a dinner at local Brickhouse Tavern.
The admission team really enjoyed getting to know all of the candidates who were here on campus. They all bring a great deal of diverse experiences, vibrant personalities, and professionalism – all qualities we hope to bring together in our MBA Class of 2016. We look forward to staying connected with all those who were with us last weekend and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome them back as official members of the Mason family in August!
